It was all Hallow’s Eve and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are killin’ it at a sold out show at one of my favorite venues at the Fox in Oakland. The crowd screams for an encore as confetti trickles down from the ceiling before engulfing them in a sea of glitter. Karen O reappears and the band finishes with a couple more songs from fever to tell. With an extra ticket from a friend who couldn’t make it last minute I owed it to my high school self to finally go see them, with a friendly 420 policy at the Fox it was the perfect setting for such an occasion.
